Why Was Woman's Clothing So Modest During The Victorian Era?
During the Victorian era clothing was very modest. The skirts would go down to your ankles and the neckline of a dress would be very high, not only that but most dresses would even have sleeves! Why so modest? The answer to this, was because woman were considered weak, therefore she had to protect herself from lustful men and her own morality. To do this woman would wear many layers of clothing and tight corsets which would make getting undressed a long task.
