Her tastes, values, and behaviour, Queen Victoria set the standard for everyone. In 1837 Queen Victoria ascended to the throne, as the Queen, she introduced new ways of dressing, and of course everyone wanted to be like her. Many started modelling the fashion trends of Queen Victoria herself. Queen Victoria would wear elegant dresses which would influence what people would wear. The style of fashion was even named after her, "Victorian Fashion." For clothes made during her ruling were Victorian. In other words, clothes made after her death are not considered Victorian. Queen Victoria also established very strict rules when it came to modesty.
